A weak high‑pressure system is affecting the region, but a low‑pressure system named Erminio, currently centered over Sicily, is moving east and is expected to influence Cyprus from Wednesday.
For now, conditions will be mostly clear, though cloud cover will increase at times, especially in the west and north.
Skies will gradually turn partly cloudy to mostly cloudy later in the day, with a chance of isolated showers, mainly in the mountains.
Winds will be southwesterly to westerly at light to moderate strength. Temperatures will reach around 21 degrees Celsius inland and in the southeast, 20 along most coasts and 10 in the higher mountains.
Tonight, periods of increased cloud are expected. Winds will shift to light northwesterly to northeasterly, and seas will remain calm to slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will drop to 7 degrees inland, 11 on the west coast, 9 on other coasts and 4 degrees in the higher elevations.
On Wednesday, skies will turn cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected through Thursday afternoon. Dust will also be present in the atmosphere at intervals. By Friday, cloud cover will ease, though periods of increased cloud are still likely.
Temperatures will rise through Thursday before dipping slightly on Friday, remaining close to seasonal averages.
