Police are urging the public to be especially cautious about misleading text messages sent to mobile phones.
In a statement, authorities said the national health system, Gesy, and the Health Insurance Organization have no connection to messages being circulated under the label “GESY.”
The texts direct recipients to follow a link to “correct” their personal information, which police warn is fraudulent.
Police advise the public to trust only announcements and posts issued through the Health Insurance Organization’s official channels.
Anyone receiving such messages should delete them immediately.
Earlier, the Social Insurance Services warned of a fake email being sent to citizens in large numbers.
The message falsely claims to come from the agency and is designed to steal money from bank accounts.
