Employees of the Cyprus Electricity Authority will stage a 24‑hour strike on April 23.
In a joint statement, the unions EPOPAI, SIDHEK‑EK, SEPAIK, SYVAIK and the Free Pancyprian Organisation of EAC Staff said the decision was unavoidable after two warning work stoppages on February 27 and March 18 failed to prompt any action from the relevant authorities.
They said long‑standing issues in the energy sector, repeatedly raised by workers, remain unresolved.
According to the announcement, 50 percent of shift staff at the Dhekelia power station will also participate in the strike.
