The number of employees in the public sector in Cyprus now stands at more than 55,000.
According to the Statistics Department, there has been a 0.8 percent increase (461 people) in public employment compared to January 2024 and that the number of public employees reached 55,107 people in January 2025.
It is also noted that only 12,003 of the approximately 55,000 public employees held permanent positions.
