A 14-year-old boy was killed and four other people injured in a knife attack in the southern Austrian city of Villach on Saturday, police said.
A man randomly stabbed passers-by around 4 p.m. in downtown Villach, Austrian broadcaster ORF quoted local police as saying.
The suspected attacker, a 23-year-old Syrian, was arrested shortly after the incident.
All the four injured people, two in serious condition, are receiving intensive medical care, according to the police.
Shortly after the incident, the police launched a large-scale manhunt throughout the city to search for possible accomplices, but it remains unclear whether the Syrian is a lone attacker, ORF reported. ■
