The Central American country of Costa Rica has entered into an agreement to receive migrants deported from the United States.
Costa Rica thus follows in the footsteps of Panama and Guatemala, which have entered into similar agreements with the United States.
“The government of Costa Rica has agreed to cooperate with the United States in the deportation of 200 people who illegally immigrated to the country,” a statement from the Costa Rican presidential office said.
These peoples have their origins in Central Asia and India, the statement continues.
