FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The Palestinian Fatah movement, which governs the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, has called on Hamas to step down from power in the Gaza Strip.
Fatah spokesman Monther al-Hayek urged Hamas to “show compassion for Gaza and its children, women, and men,” warning that continued governance by Hamas could lead to “the end of Palestinian existence.”
The appeal comes as Israel resumes attacks on Gaza following a two-month ceasefire.
Despite a year and a half of conflict with Israel, Hamas has maintained control over the Gaza Strip.
The situation remains tense, with no resolution in sight.
