FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police in the village of Livadia calmed disturbances during Easter celebrations after a group of young people threw fireworks at officers and passing drivers, according to press reports.
Only one of the 15 individuals involved—a 16-year-old—was arrested. The teenager was later released, authorities said.
The Alithia newspaper reported that such incidents, which occur annually during the Easter period, cast a shadow over the holiday and create unrest in the community.
