1959: A man in Cyprus is on a mission to get rid of 100,000 empty beer bottles.
These bottles, imported by Symons Pamon Oisk Ltd, the Malta brewers, were once filled with beer and quickly consumed on the island.
Now they’re empty, and the challenge is finding a way to deal with them.
Symons Pamon Oisk Ltd had initially planned to set up a brewery in Cyprus, which would have allowed the bottles to be refilled and reused.
However, the company has decided to close its offices on the island, leaving their local agent, Mr. Ken Cole-Brickwood, to find a solution.
Cole-Brickwood is trying to turn a profit from the empty bottles rather than incurring a loss. In the meantime, the bottles are taking up valuable storage space and creating a lot of noise.
If anyone has a creative use for 100,000 empty beer bottles, Cole-Brickwood is eager to hear from them.
Any takers?
