FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — A total of 31 Cypriot citizens have been successfully repatriated from Israel, according to government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis.
Speaking earlier today, he noted that five citizens arrived in Larnaca this morning aboard a Portuguese evacuation flight organized to transport that country’s nationals via Cyprus.
Additionally, arrangements are underway to bring home six Cypriots who were previously in Iran and are currently in Armenia.
As part of Cyprus’s broader humanitarian response under the “Estia Plan,” a total of 213 foreign nationals have so far been evacuated through the island.
FULL CAPACITY
Airports and ports across Cyprus are operating at full capacity as the island continues to serve as a critical transit hub for the repatriation of Israeli citizens amidst escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
Today alone, nearly 30 special flights are scheduled at Larnaca Airport, expected to transport over 2,500 Israelis to and from the country.
Meanwhile, the cruise ship Crown Iris is set to depart from Limassol Port this afternoon, carrying approximately 1,600 Israeli nationals to Haifa. The vessel is anticipated to complete another round-trip between Haifa and Limassol within the coming 24 to 48 hours.
In addition to air and large-scale maritime transport, small boat crossings have continued at a brisk pace. Since Sunday, 120 vessels have carried around 460 individuals from Israel to Larnaca Marina—an equal number also departed from the marina for Haifa.
