Cyprus’s Meteorology Department has issued a new yellow warning owing to high temperatures.
The warning will be in effect tomorrow, 3 August, from 2pm until 5pm, during which inland temperatures are expected to reach around 40 degrees Celsius.

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the area. Today’s weather will be mainly clear. Winds will initially be variable and weak, at 3 Beaufort, before turning mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong, at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 34 on the south and east coasts, around 31 on the west and north coasts, and 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with winds mainly northwest to northeast and weak, at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will fall to around 24 degrees inland and on the coast, and to 19 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the weather will remain mainly clear. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly over the coming three days and will stay above average for the season.
