The Ministry of Interior announced Monday the start of the application process for a housing scheme that will allocate plots of land to families based on income and other criteria, following approval by the Council of Ministers on Sept. 16.
The scheme was published Sept. 18, and district administrations began issuing the first notifications by district Monday, inviting eligible beneficiaries to apply for existing unallocated plots. The plots were created through earlier state land subdivisions in communities and municipal districts named in the notifications.
Interested applicants must use a prescribed application form, available on the ministry’s website. Applications must be submitted to the relevant district administration office by Nov. 30.
The ministry said further notifications will follow in the coming period, covering additional plots in communities where the required groundwork has not yet been completed.
Officials also said the scheme includes provisions for creating new plots through further subdivisions of state land in communities that express interest in taking part. The ministry said the goal is to widen families’ access to residential land and support housing needs, particularly in rural communities.
