A total of 570,635 tourists visited the island in September, up from 509,463 in 2024. From January to September, arrivals reached 3.6 million, marking a 10.3% increase year-on-year.
The United Kingdom remained the leading source of tourism, accounting for 31.4% of arrivals, followed by Israel (14%), Poland (7.9%), Germany (6%), Sweden (3.6%), Romania (3.1%), and Greece (3%).
Holidaymakers made up the vast majority of visitors, with 84.8% travelling for leisure, 10.1% visiting friends or relatives, and 5% arriving for business.
Meanwhile, 166,129 Cypriot residents returned from trips abroad in September, a 6.4% increase from the previous year. Greece was the most common destination, followed by Russia, the United Kingdom, and Italy.
Most Cypriot travellers were on holiday (76.1%), while 21% travelled for business, 1.6% for studies, and 1.3% for other reasons.
The figures reflect the number of trips rather than individual travellers, as one person may take multiple trips during the reporting period.
