Day-long excursions to the Akamas peninsula continuing to offer residents and visitors an in-depth look at the area’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and geological significance.
The tours, which will take place every Saturday throughout May and June 2025, are free and depart from bus stops near the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park, following a scenic coastal route through the Peyia forest.
The first stop is the village of Pano Arodes, followed by a visit to the Akamas Geology and Palaeontology Information Centre, where exhibits highlight the region’s geological history and fossil discoveries.
Participants then travel to Ineia, home to the Turtle Museum, where they learn about the biology and conservation of the area’s native sea turtles.
The tour continues to Drouseia, where local crafts and artisanal techniques are showcased at the Akamas Rural Life and Traditions Centre.
The day concludes with a visit to the Akamas Avifauna and Flora Visitor Centre in Kathikas, featuring interactive exhibits on the peninsula’s birdlife and plants.
