Cyprus Welcomes Gaza Ceasefire Agreement, Urges Full Implementation

Cyprus has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, marking the first phase of a deal that includes the release of hostages. The agreement is seen as a critical step toward de-escalating tensions in the region.

Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, in a post on the social media platform X, praised the United States for its leadership and ongoing diplomatic efforts. He emphasized that full implementation of the agreement is now “absolutely vital.”

The ceasefire follows negotiations involving regional and international actors.

Cyprus, which has consistently supported humanitarian access and regional stability, reaffirmed its commitment to peace efforts and expressed hope that the agreement would pave the way for broader reconciliation.
