FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Turkish Cypriot politician Serdar Denktaşh has announced the formation of a new political party in the northern part of Cyprus, now in its final stages of organization.
The party will be called TAM PARTİ — short for Toplumsal Adalet ve Mücadele Partisi, or Social Justice and Struggle Party. According to Denktaşh, its mission is to fight corruption, restore justice, and confront illegality and injustice. In Turkish, the acronym “TAM” means “whole” or “complete,” but also connotes “timeliness” and “clarity.”
The party’s logo features an olive tree with deep roots, symbolizing a connection to land, values, experience, and fertility.
The chosen colors are “Ecevit blue” and black — blue representing hope and social justice for Turkish Cypriots, and black symbolizing strength, leadership, and rebellion against current conditions.
Denktaşh said a press conference will soon be held to formally present the party’s leadership, founding charter, and vision. He ended his social media announcement with the slogan: “Now is TAM’s time.”
