Police carried out intensified overnight patrols across Cyprus, leading to eight arrests as part of targeted crime‑prevention operations.
The arrests involved offenses including illegal drug possession, carrying a knife and unlawful possession of property.
During the night, officers stopped 388 vehicles and checked 476 drivers and passengers. Police also conducted 41 inspections of premises, issuing four citations.
Traffic enforcement checks resulted in 219 violations, including 81 for speeding. Sixty‑one breath tests were carried out, with two drivers testing positive. Two vehicles were seized as part of ongoing investigations.
Police said the coordinated operations to prevent and combat crime will continue daily with increased patrols, targeted checks and rapid response measures to safeguard public order.
