FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – India is likely to receive more monsoon rainfall than usual this year, government officials said, forecasting favorable conditions for agriculture and economic growth.
Monsoon rains account for nearly 70 percent of the country’s annual precipitation, essential for irrigating crops and replenishing water reservoirs.
The monsoon season, which typically begins in Kerala around June 1 and lasts until mid-September, is projected to reach 105 percent of the long-term average, authorities said.
The expected increase could provide relief to farmers and boost agricultural output.
