Turkey registered 183,172 new motor vehicles in November, down 3.1% from the same month last year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said Thursday.
During the month, 5,021 vehicles were deregistered, bringing the net increase to 178,151. Cars accounted for 52.4% of new registrations, followed by motorcycles (29.9%), light trucks (12.8%), tractors (2.1%), trucks (1.6%), minibuses (0.6%), buses (0.4%) and special‑purpose vehicles (0.2%).
The total number of registered vehicles rose 7.4% year‑on‑year to 33.37 million. Of these, 51.6% were cars, 21.1% motorcycles and 14.7% light trucks.
In November, 96,003 cars were registered, led by Renault (12%), Volkswagen (9.3%) and Toyota (8.6%). Domestic brand TOGG accounted for 4.5%.
From January to November, registrations fell 10.1% to 2.12 million, while deregistrations jumped 56.3% to 48,844. Net growth in the fleet was 2.07 million vehicles.
Most newly registered cars in the 11‑month period were gasoline‑powered (46.2%), followed by hybrids (26.9%) and electric vehicles (17%). Gray was the most popular color, chosen for 40.2% of cars.
