Turkey’s furniture industry exported $4.2 billion worth of goods to more than 200 countries in the first 11 months of 2025, up 1.5% from the same period last year, the Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association said Wednesday.
Chairman Erkan Özkan said Iraq was the top market with $604 million in sales, followed by Germany ($339 million), France ($231 million) and the United States ($228 million). Exports grew 11.2% in Iraq, 9% in France and 2.3% in the U.S.
Özkan said the sector is on track to meet its $4.5 billion export target for 2025 despite currency‑related competitiveness challenges, and aims to surpass $5 billion in 2026. He highlighted Turkey’s production and design strength as drivers of long‑term growth.
The association plans to boost competitiveness through promotional events, trade missions and participation in major international fairs, including CIFF in China, Salone del Mobile in Milan and ICFF in New York. A sectoral trade mission to Mexico is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, alongside projects to expand into distant markets.
