Turkey’s Minimum Wage Determination Commission, made up of representatives of workers, employers and the government, began work Friday to set the new minimum wage that will take effect in 2026.
The commission held its first meeting at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, chaired by Labor Director General Oğuz Tuncay.
Officials said the process directly affects about 7 million workers and indirectly impacts society at large.
The ministry announced that the commission will hold its second meeting on Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. as part of efforts to finalize the new wage level for the coming year.
