According to the UN, more than 630 aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the extremist organization Hamas came into effect yesterday morning. This was reported by senior UN official Tom Fletcher on the X messaging service.
According to him, just under half of the trucks have headed to the northern part of Gaza, which has suffered the most from Israel’s massive attacks on Palestinian-populated areas during the conflict.
UN organizations have warned of a looming famine in the northern part of Gaza and of communicable diseases in refugee camps.
According to Fletcher, the need for humanitarian aid in Gaza is staggering.
