FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A recent survey by the Malta Chamber for SMEs reveals that small and medium-sized enterprises in Malta are grappling with a significant shortage of human resources, with 43% of respondents identifying it as their primary concern.
The quarterly poll, published Monday, surveyed over 400 businesses.
In addition to employee shortages, the business community expressed concerns about economic challenges and governance issues. Inflation was cited as a major obstacle by nearly 20% of respondents.
The survey also shed light on the adoption of artificial intelligence, with just over half of the businesses reporting the use of AI tools in their daily operations.
Despite this, the findings underscore the pressing need for solutions to address workforce shortages and economic pressures.
