FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – The public can now access six new services through the government’s digital portal, including the issuance and renewal of passports and refugee identity cards for displaced families.
Cyprus’ digital portal, Gov.cy, serves as a centralized platform for accessing government services online. It allows residents to complete administrative tasks without visiting government offices, streamlining processes and reducing wait times.
While most services are fully digital, the issuance and renewal of identity cards and passports require applicants to submit forms electronically before visiting a designated service point to provide biometric data.
Government spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced that additional features will also be available through the AI-powered digital assistant in the Digital Citizen app, enhancing accessibility and user support.
The expansion of digital services is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public administration and improve efficiency.
