FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cyprus and Greece have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve cooperation in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

The agreement facilitates the exchange of information between the two nations, strengthening efforts to tackle financial crime.

The initiative marks the start of broader collaboration, including joint strategic analyses of money laundering risks, the sharing of best practices, and the organization of joint training sessions.

Authorities aim for the MoU to lead to more criminal proceedings against money laundering and related offenses, as well as increased measures to freeze or forfeit illicit funds.

Money laundering remains a major challenge, often involving international networks.
