FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass lifted the curfew in portions of downtown Tuesday, citing successful crime prevention efforts.
Bass said the measure helped protect businesses and residential communities from bad actors and emphasized her administration’s focus on safety and stability.
“As we continue adapting to chaos coming from Washington, I will be prepared to reissue a curfew if needed,” she said in a statement.
The curfew was initially imposed on June 10, running nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. It was later shortened by two hours before being lifted entirely on Tuesday.
