FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved lenacapvir, a drug designed to prevent HIV infection, according to the Associated Press.
Lenacapvir has demonstrated effectiveness in eliminating HIV infection in nearly all individuals who have taken it. The treatment requires twice-yearly injections to remain effective.
“This could potentially stop HIV transmission,” said Greg Millett of The Foundation for AIDS Research.
