TULKAREM — Israeli forces imposed a lockdown on the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem following the detonation of an explosive device that injured two soldiers and damaged a military vehicle.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli troops closed key entry points to the city, including iron gates at the southern and eastern entrances, the Jabara Bridge gate in the south, and the Annab military checkpoint in the east, effectively halting vehicle movement.

Troops raided shops and cafes in the city center, detaining individuals found inside or in nearby vehicles.

Detainees were reportedly forced to march in long lines toward the Haduri checkpoint. Security camera footage was confiscated during the raids.

Additional military vehicles and bulldozers were deployed throughout the city. Young detainees were reportedly interrogated on site.

The escalation followed an incident in which an Israeli armored vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb near Tulkarem, injuring two soldiers.

The Israeli military said the explosion occurred during an operation in the area. In response, forces encircled the city and established new checkpoints
