LARNACA, Cyprus — One of the vessels participating in the Gaza-bound activist flotilla was spotted sailing eight nautical miles south of Zygi and entered Cyprus’s territorial waters, prompting a preliminary inspection by the Marine and Port Police.
According to RIK, the vessel was carrying around 20 people who told authorities they were seeking to dock at a Cypriot port for refueling and supplies.
Verified reports indicate the boat is now heading toward the Larnaca coastal area, where more thorough inspections are expected by the competent services of the Republic of Cyprus.
It remains unclear whether the vessel will dock at Larnaca’s port or marina, with a final decision expected within hours.
