A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Florida, accused of starting a wildfire in Los Angeles shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, prosecutors have said.
The fire was initially extinguished but continued to smolder underground and later reignited due to strong winds.
Large parts of the Pacific Palisades area were destroyed.
Twelve people died in the blaze, and more than 6,000 homes and buildings — including residences of several celebrities and wealthy individuals — were lost.
