Officials in Los Angeles County voted Tuesday to declare a state of emergency in response to ongoing federal immigration raids, according to ABC News.
The declaration grants the county authority to assist residents who have been economically impacted by actions taken by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
In a statement, local supervisors emphasized their intent to support the immigrant community in the region.
