FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE -At least 11 people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday in what authorities described as a random attack. Six victims are in critical condition and five are seriously injured, according to Munson Medical Center.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said the suspect, armed with a folding knife, targeted victims near the store’s checkout area. “Eleven is too many, but thank God there weren’t more,” Shea said.
A 42-year-old Michigan resident was arrested at the scene. Authorities believe he acted alone, though investigations are ongoing. It remains unclear whether any shots were fired during the incident, NBC News reported.
Police have asked the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
