Israel plans to establish an international hydrogen and innovation valley in the eastern Negev desert, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has said.
The ministry said the site will include a hydrogen refueling station and a range of advanced hydrogen and energy technologies, including pyrolysis‑based hydrogen production, hydrogen‑powered generators and other industrial applications.
The project is slated to launch in 2026 with more than 40 million shekels ($12 million) in government funding.
Officials said the valley is intended to create a full ecosystem for the hydrogen value chain and promote innovation in the energy sector. It will serve as a hub for testing hydrogen production, supply, storage, transport and end‑use across multiple industries.
The ministry said the initiative is expected to support sustainable economic growth and attract research, development and industrial activity to the region.
