A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a kiosk in Cyprus’s Famagusta district, police said Monday.
The suspect allegedly entered the kiosk around 10:40 a.m. wearing a motorcycle helmet and threatened the cashier with a hunting rifle before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers from the Xylofagou police station and the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department responded to the scene.
Investigators later identified the suspect, who was located and arrested under a court warrant shortly after 7:30 p.m.
He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
