Evaluation committees have begun reviewing 506 applications submitted under Cyprus’ “Culture III” arts‑funding program, the Department of Contemporary Culture has said, adding that the process is expected to finish in April.
The submissions span literature, visual arts, music, dance, theater, traditional culture and film, with music and visual arts drawing the largest number of proposals.
Applications came from organizations, individual artists and creative groups.
As part of a transparency pledge, the department also released the names of committee members for each field, including museum directors, academics, choreographers, musicians, theater professionals and representatives of the department.
The “Culture III” program is one of the state’s main funding tools for contemporary artistic production, supporting projects across Cyprus’ cultural sector.
