Cyprus police carried out intensified overnight patrols across the island as part of ongoing targeted operations aimed at preventing serious crime and maintaining public order, authorities said Friday.
Police said 468 vehicles were stopped for checks and 581 drivers and passengers were inspected. Officers also conducted 45 checks on premises, with no violations reported.
Traffic enforcement led to 275 citations for various offenses, including 115 for speeding. A total of 132 breath tests were carried out, with four drivers testing positive for alcohol. Eight vehicles were seized as part of police investigations.
Authorities said the coordinated operations continue daily, with increased patrols, targeted checks and rapid response measures intended to boost public safety and reinforce police visibility.
