Applications for the recruitment of Contracted Soldiers in the National Guard will be accepted until July 13, the Defense Ministry announced, inviting eligible candidates to apply.
According to the ministry, applications must be submitted exclusively online through the government portal at www.gov.cy, under the “Conscription” section, from Monday, May 25, 2026 at 8 a.m. until Monday, July 13, 2026 at 2 p.m.
For assistance with the application process or in cases of technical issues, applicants may contact the ministry’s Conscripts and Citizens Service Center on working days between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 1430 or via email at syop@mod.gov.cy.
Applicants must be registered and verified users of the government portal. Verification can be completed through online banking, in‑person visits to Citizen Service Centers with an ID card, or via scheduled video calls with staff.
After the application period ends, candidates will undergo a physical fitness test and a strength assessment measuring forearm grip and lifting ability. These tests are expected to take place in July, with candidates notified by email and SMS.
