Ministry issues fresh guidance as temperatures climb in Cyprus

The Health Ministry has urged the public to take precautions as extreme heat continues across the country.

Officials advised residents to monitor daily heat‑wave alerts and stay in cool, shaded or air‑conditioned areas. The ministry said people should avoid prolonged sun exposure and strenuous activity during the hottest hours.

Authorities also recommended limiting alcohol and high‑caffeine drinks and choosing light, frequent meals.

Extra care is urged for older adults, children and infants, who should never be left in a parked vehicle, even briefly.

The ministry also warned the public to be vigilant about food safety during periods of intense heat.
