Turkey has launched its first suction dredger designed and built domestically in Turkish shipyards.
The vessel, named UAB MAVİ VATAN, is the first of its type to be built in the country to a local design.
Construction began on April 10 2025, when the first block was welded, and that the new suction seabed dredger had now been put into the water.
It measures 85 metres in length, can dredge to a depth of 20 metres and has a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres.
The vessel will enter service after several months of sea trials.
