Almost 10,000 people have fled from Sudan to South Sudan every day since Saturday, according to the UN.
Over 20,000 Sudanese crossed the border into South Sudan last week – three times more per day than in previous weeks.
The civil war in Sudan has displaced over 12 million people since it began in the spring of 2023.
The UN has called the situation one of the world’s worst displacements, and in recent days the number fleeing to the neighboring country to the south has increased sharply.
