British guitarist John Sykes, who played in rock bands Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy, has died at the age of 65.
‘It is with great sadness that we share that John Sykes has passed away after a hard battle with cancer,’ says a statement on Sykes’ social media.
Sykes is probably best known for his work with Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy in the 1980s, but he also helped start the band Blue Murder.
In addition, he has released several solo albums.
