The five people arrested in the case of illegal possession of thousands of boxes of duty-free cigarettes, which were discovered in Larnaca, have been taken into custody.
Larnaca District Court remanded four of the suspects in custody for four days and the fifth for twenty-four hours.
Following a coordinated operation, the Police located thousands of boxes of duty-free cigarettes, while four men were loading them onto a docked boat.
In a subsequent search of a house and two vehicles, other boxes of cigarettes, various valuables, a large sum of money and a bag of cocaine were found.
A woman was also arrested as a suspect.
A total of 10,500 boxes of duty-free cigarettes were seized.
