Trump dismisses Biden-appointed attorneys general

US President Donald Trump says he has ordered all remaining federal attorneys general nominated by Joe Biden to be fired.

“Over the past four years, the Department of Justice has been politicized like never before. Therefore, I have ordered the firing of all remaining federal attorneys general from the Biden era,” Trump wrote on Truth Social .

“We must clean up immediately and restore trust. America’s golden age must have a fair justice system, and that starts today,” the president added.

The United States has 93 federal attorneys general—one for each of the country’s 94 federal judicial districts. Two districts share one attorney general.

It is common practice for new presidents to replace federal attorneys general who had been appointed by their predecessor.
