Mostly clear skies expected to give way to localised cloud and isolated rain, with temperatures reaching 33C inland
A weak low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus, forecasters have said, bringing a mix of sunshine and localised cloud over the coming days.
Today will start mostly clear, but increased cloud is expected to build later in localised areas, bringing isolated rain and raising the possibility of a brief isolated storm, mainly over the mountains and inland areas. Winds will blow mostly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale, becoming locally strong later at 4 to 5. Seas will be slight to moderate. Temperatures are expected to reach 33C inland, 29C on the western coast, around 31C on the rest of the coast and around 24C in the higher mountains.
Tonight will turn mostly clear, though periods of increased low cloud are expected. Winds will blow initially mostly south-westerly to north-westerly, light and temporarily locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Seas will be slight to moderate. Temperatures will drop to around 19C inland, around 21C on the coast and around 13C in the higher mountains.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, conditions will again start mostly clear, with localised cloud building around midday and in the early afternoon expected to bring isolated rain, mainly over the mountains.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly over the three-day period and will remain close to seasonal averages.
