The Amatis Trio is set to make their Cyprus debut at the Shoe Factory in Nicosia next weekend.
Regarded as one of the leading piano trios of their generation, these musicians have left audiences in awe at major venues like the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Konzerthaus Vienna, as well as top festivals such as the BBC Proms and Verbier.
Known for their “stunning, stormy, and masterful” performances, the Amatis Trio will present Schubert’s first piano trio, Mendelssohn’s second piano trio, and “Moorlands,” an evocative piece by Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi, written specifically for the trio.
The concert will open with Franz Schubert’s Piano Trio No.1 in B-flat major, D.898, composed in 1827. This will be followed by Andrea Tarrodi’s “Moorlands,” a 2018 composition that promises to take the audience on a vivid musical journey. After an interval, the trio will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No.2 in C minor, Op.66, composed in 1845.
The concert, which is a collaboration between the Pharos Arts Foundation and the Austrian Embassy Nicosia, promises to be an evening filled with enchanting classical music. Tickets are available on the Pharos Arts Foundation website.
The Shoe Factory is located at 304 Ermou Street, 1017, Nicosia. For more information, you can contact them at +357 22 663871.
