A report by Human Rights Protection and Ombudsman Maria Stilyanu-Lottidi revealed that 27 unaccompanied children are still residing in the Purnara Refugee Camp in Cyprus, despite procedures indicating they should have been moved to children’s shelters.

The report, cited by the Haravgi newspaper, highlighted violations of the international framework regarding children’s rights, stating that these children were deprived of their fundamental rights and should be provided with education in care homes or reception centers.

According to Alithia newspaper, there are 74 children in Purnara, 27 of whom are unaccompanied, with 15 boys and 12 girls.
