There has been a reported increase in the number of people seeking help for gambling addiction in Cyprus.
According to local media despite the prohibition of gambling for children under the age of 18, statistics show that many youngsters are engaging in games of chance, both online and in betting offices.
It is also reported that the number of people applying to the Gambling Addition Centre to overcome gambling addiction rose from 84 in 2020 to 157 in 2023.
As well as a range of tradition betting shops, and a lottery, the island boasts several well-known casino establishments, such as the City of Dreams Mediterranean in Limassol, the largest integrated casino resort in Europe.
Other notable casinos include the C2 (Cyprus Casinos) chain, with locations in Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca, Ayia Napa, and Paphos.
