FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar will meet on April 2, confirmed by Colin Stewart, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Cyprus.
The meeting will take place at 9 a.m. at Stewart’s residence in the United Nations-controlled area of Nicosia airport.
Discussions will focus on opening four new checkpoints, implementing confidence-building measures from Geneva, and providing directions on photovoltaic parks in the buffer zone and cemetery restorations.
The formation and terms of reference for committees announced by UN Secretary-General António Guterres will also be addressed.
Nicosia is waiting for the UN to announce the appointment of Guterres’ new personal envoy for the Cyprus issue.
