AJet carries almost 11 million passengers over the summer

Turkish low-cost carrier AJet carried almost 11 million passengers between June and September, its chief executive Kerem Sarp has said.

Sarp made the announcement after the end of the summer season, according to a company statement. He visited AJet teams and operational partners at Sabiha Gokcen Airport, including the integrated operations control centre, the ground operations department and flight crews.

He also visited TGS, Turkish Technic and HEAS, thanking operations teams and partners’ staff for their work over the summer.

In a social media post, Sarp said the airline had improved its operational performance during the busy summer period.

“In the summer period, when air traffic is heavy, we achieved a significant success as AJet by raising our on-time departure performance at Sabiha Gokcen Airport to 91 per cent,” he said. “Between June and September we served close to 11 million guests.”

Sarp said the company would continue working to take AJet further, renew its fleet and improve the passenger experience without compromising on safety.
