The number of civil servants employed in Cyprus rose by 0.6 per cent in July compared with the same month last year, according to newly published figures.
Citing data from the Cyprus Statistical Service, the newspaper Alithia and other outlets reported that public sector staff numbers reached 53,747 in July 2026, an increase of 300 on the July 2025 total.
The figures also showed that average employment levels across the public sector during the first seven months of 2026 were up 0.3 per cent on the equivalent period the previous year.
